My Kythira is a photography book I’m publishing right now (August 2023).
All the photos in the book are taken from me during our trips to the island of Kythira, this wonderful place we felt in love with few years ago.
The intent is to share the beauty of the place, but we’re also trying to help: the selling price will be €30, and for each copy sold Katherine, the veterinarian on the island, will receive a donation of €20.
Sales will start at the end of August in Kythira; online purchases (both for the book and for the virtual PDF version) will be available later.
If you’re interested in buying the book please be patient until end of November 2023 (we’re working on it).
You’ll be able to buy the real thing (and have it delivered to your address) or just the PDF version of it (with direct download).

This book is about emotions.
You won’t find here descriptions or stories about the single places: you will just find the picture, the name and the position on the island’s map.
This is because what I try to do with my work is shooting what I feel rather than what I see. You don’t require explanations or directions for your feelings: just have a look to the picture, close your eyes, and let the emotions go.
You could then feel colors, sounds, and fragrances, and this will be the best definition for this wonderful place that is Kythira: a place that reaches your deepest self and never lets you go (and you’ll never want her to).
So this is My Kythira, a place that not needs to be explained: just observed, breathed, and deeply felt.

Αυτό το βιβλίο μιλάει για συναισθήματα.
Δεν θα βρείτε εδώ περιγραφές η ιστορία για τα διάφορα μέρη: θα βρείτε μόνο μιά φωτογραφία, τον τίτλο και τη θέση στο χάρτη του νησιού.
Αυτό, γιατί εκείνο που προσπαθώ να κάνω με τη δουλειά μου ειναι να φωτογραφίζω αυτό που νιώθω παρά αυτό που βλέπω. Και δεν χρειάζονται εξηγήσεις η οδηγίες για τα συναισθήματά σας: απλά κοιτάξε την εικόνα, κλείσε τα μάτια σου και αφήσε τα συναισθήματα σου να βγουν.
Ετσι, θα μπορέσεις να φανταστείς τα χρώματα, τους ήχους και τα αρώματα, και αυτός θα είναι ο καλύτερος ορισμός για αυτόν τον υπέροχο τόπο που είναι τα Κύθηρα: ένας τόπος που σε πάει στο βαθύτερο εαυτό σου και δεν σε αφήνει ποτέ να φύγεις (και ούτε εσύ θα το θέλεις πιά).
Αυτά λοιπόν είναι τα Κύθηρά μου, ένας τόπος που δεν χρειάζεται να εξηγηθεί: απλά τα παρατηρείς, τα αναπνέεις και τα αισθάνεσαι.
